Hello. I have been looking for someone to sponsor our Prom, and was
led to your site. My name is Stephen Sewell. I go to Jesuit High
School in New Orleans, LA. I am Vice-President of the Senior Class of
'06. As you are well aware, Hurricane Katrina created countless
problems for our city. As a result, the entire first floor of our
4-floor school was ruined. Classes were cancelled for the entire
semester. Students were forced to find education and housing
elsewhere. About 400 students went to Houston, 100 to Dallas, and the
other 900 students went to various schools across the country. This
year has not been the best senior year imaginable. Our school plans
to open up January 23, 2006. Classes will be held on the top 3 floors
of the building. Through this whole experience, we have missed out on
a tremendous amount of what "Senior Year" is supposed to be.
Therefore, our Senior Prom on Friday, May 12 is something our class is
greatly anticipating. This dance has the potential to be one of the
most emotional experiences of our lives. I thought that it would be
the PERFECT graduation present to our senior class to enjoy a big-name
band to play at our Prom. Like i said, it is on Friday, May 12 at
Generation's Hall. We currently do not have a performance scheduled.
Most of our school's funds have been drained with the reparations of
our first floor, auditorium, cafeteria, etc. We desperately need
money to pay for a band to play. Really appreciate the help. Thanks
again.
