Mike: I think what Jeff is trying to say is: Yes! i work hard, and please come to
my track! If you do? We will have Pizza, fish and chips
and some Awesome Speedway!!
I have been looking forward to these dates since Industry Speedway announced
them. I look forward to a great show,as Jeff always puts on! Yet all the riders
from the Dream Team, and Ricky Wells,Billy Janniro, and of course are "hardcore
regulars"!Pretty good show if you ask me? What is the date again??
Mike? I hope to see you there Bro!!

Many from our Speedway community came to the Church of the Ascension in Sierra
Madre for Stuart Munger's funeral today. This was Stuarts place of worship
when he grew up. He was a alter boy at this church. An alter boy, come on,
who would have thought it. After the service his ashes were sprinkled in a
garden on the church grounds. Petty heavy stuff. Still a proper goodbye.
There weren't to many dry eyes during the service.

After there was a luncheon and the mood became more cheery. We all remembered
and told stories about Stu and days gone by. John LaDouceur told IMS tales.
Eldon McIntyre Frisbee stories and Huggy Bear motorcycle adventures. Dean York
made memorial stickers and gave everyone one. The entire Fishback family was
there. Even "to Tall" made the call.

There's still one more gathering to honor The REV this Sunday at IMS. There
will be a free barbeque and drinks. Also many of Stuarts Speedway programs and
antique things will be on display. See you there?

Stuart Munger's you will be missed. But not forgotten. With everything you did
we're going to talk about you forever.

Howie

Jeff I was actually wanting (like a true Brit) chicken vindaloo. The meeting
Jeff refers to was extremely productive. No truth in the rumor we are all
working on a 2010 SGP at Victorville though.

The only reason I'm moaning is I know if everyone got together in one place, at
one time..and brain stormed for ideas on how to get Speedway to take off in the
US...it could be very productive. When's the last time ALL the Promoters got
together solely to discuss issues and ideas? I've thrown some ideas out
there...and Jeff has proven he's thinking outside the box in promoting speedway.
I've been through it (intense productivity meetings), and it's very difficult
for a lot of folks to out away their egos and work together...but if it's for as
great a cause as Speedway...then it's well worth it.

OK , Here's a few cents from me... I think Speedway here in the US is in a
better place now ,than when I left in 1998. I think the purses aren't what they
were when we rode in the 80's but, there is more tracks and seems to be alot of
creative promotins and more fun racing out there to get new and old guys out
skidding...I don't think even if you get a hundred G's and throw it at our sport
it'll become what it was in the '70's... (or if that is what we're looking for)
Our world has and is changing and I think if we had more dough it would get the
word out to put new butts in the stands and some of the old ones back in the
stands! Introducing speedway to people who have never enjoyed it ,and finding
the people who have no idea it's still around. Anybody who thinks the people who
are putting on speedway are doing it just for the money are OUT OF THEIR MINDS!!
I doubt they make minimum wage scale ,if you break it down how much it takes to
make the wheel
roll...NO ONE GUY (or group of guys) CAN SAVE OR KILL ANYTHING . If you want to
see it stick around get involved and ask "what can I do to help"! Don't point
fingers and get all pissy about it... I don't know if It'll helping save or kill
but, I'm riding again so I'm doing something ... Fixing speedway is like "EATING
A ELEPHANT, " we can't do it in one day ! . Let's nibble away at this part and
then move over to that part ! I suggest putting Jeff and Mike together ;just
below the tail and have them chew their way out ( or in ) together !!! LOL Let
the bitching begin ...Doug Nicol

Oh yeah right.....a limo. If you all think that things are so damm easy.....tell
you what, as soon as you get me a confimed meeting with a Lucas employee that
can yes or no to $100 Grand for Speedway, I'll drive there in my 20 year old
car. Afterwards I'll send the limo to you and you can save or kill Speedway.

Speedway isn't hard to sell. It's a spectator sport! Families go. Parents take
their kids, and their neighbors kids. Lucas Oil isn't cuttig back. Jim's got it
right. Hire a limo...put yourself, BP, Steve, Sean, Jason (promoters) and Brad
in it...and point it to Riverside! You wanna save Speedway or kill it?

Lucas Oil was a major sponsor at Victorville and at Glen Helen. It was an easy
sell as they like motor sports. All we had to do was go visit with them!
Sometimes you just have to get in the car and go see the guys! Meeting with the
guy in person who your going to ask for a pocket full of money tends to work for
the better more than not! There only in Riverside and friendly people who have a
history with speedway. Shouldn't be to hard a sell.

LOL Let
the bitching begin ...Doug Nicol

their kids, and their neighbors kids. Lucas Oil isn't cuttig back. Jim's got it
right. Hire a limo...put yourself, BP, Steve, Sean, Jason (promoters) and Brad

sell as they like motor sports.

Gary and i are already looking ahead and exploring the possibility of a 2010
tour. The reason we are hitting the ground running so soon is that the tour will
be before our regular season. Going in October isn't ideal as the UK season is
winding down, though last month was still quite a success. I had thought of
going in July so the boys could see the Cardiff GP, but then going mid our
domestic season creates a bunch of logistical issue. The first three tours were
all over Easter time. Going again then gives us bigger crowds with race starved
fans and school holidays.

On one hand, having just got back there is some validity to the idea of skipping
2010. However, having witnessed the high quality of racing in all three leagues,
our younger riders (and by that I mean the 15-19 age bracket) need to go to the
UK as many times as they can until they are ready for the British Leagues. So,
missing a year, in essence is not ideal.

Easter Sunday falls on April 4th 2010. We already have an offer to race good
Friday April 2nd, which would most likely be opening day. If anything we will
have more tracks offering us races than we can fit in. The tour would be for two
weeks, most likely flying around Sunday 28th March and leaving on the 12th April
to get back in time for the opening of the new USA season.

At this point we need to hear from any riders who are seriously interested in
touring, as without 7 guys who want in, there can't be a tour. Preference is
given to the youngsters but we can't take a team of just youngsters and compete,
so we will need some experience up top to take the heat off. If you are
interested in being on this, please call or email. In reality we need to know by
new years if there is the rider interest.

Riders are eligible from NorCal, SoCal, back East, Midwest, Canada.

And if we do have a rider or more end up in the UK, don't think it will kill our
domestic scene. If anything it will help us attract more Moto X guys like
Burmeister, especially when they can see a potential Pro Career which
unfortunately the US scene cannot provide at this point.

There will of course be fund raising again and I would like to at least match
what we did last time as it really let the riders concentrate on racing and bike
prep having all travel and accomodations 100% covered. I already have some
merchandise to auction off (autographed bibs including a Cradley one!) and the
ball will start on these items fairly soon.

had thought of going in July so the boys could see the Cardiff GP, but then
going mid our domestic season creates a bunch of logistical issue. The first
three tours were all over Easter time. Going again then gives us bigger
crowds with race starved fans and school holidays.

On one hand, having just got back there is some validity to the idea of
skipping 2010. However, having witnessed the high quality of racing in all
three leagues, our younger riders (and by that I mean the 15-19 age bracket)
need to go to the UK as many times as they can until they are ready for the
British Leagues. So, missing a year, in essence is not ideal.

Easter Sunday falls on April 4th 2010. We already have an offer to race
good Friday April 2nd, which would most likely be opening day. If anything we
will have more tracks offering us races than we can fit in. The tour would
be for two weeks, most likely flying around Sunday 28th March and leaving
on the 12th April to get back in time for the opening of the new USA season.

At this point we need to hear from any riders who are seriously interested
in touring, as without 7 guys who want in, there can't be a tour.
Preference is given to the youngsters but we can't take a team of just
youngsters
and compete, so we will need some experience up top to take the heat off. If
you are interested in being on this, please call or email. In reality we
need to know by new years if there is the rider interest.

Riders are eligible from NorCal, SoCal, back East, Midwest, Canada.

And if we do have a rider or more end up in the UK, don't think it will
kill our domestic scene. If anything it will help us attract more Moto X guys
like Burmeister, especially when they can see a potential Pro Career which
unfortunately the US scene cannot provide at this point.

There will of course be fund raising again and I would like to at least
match what we did last time as it really let the riders concentrate on racing
and bike prep having all travel and accomodations 100% covered. I already
have some merchandise to auction off (autographed bibs including a Cradley
one!) and the ball will start on these items fairly soon.

Jeff, my apologies...I actually meant that as a figure of speech. My push for
Lucas Oil series sponsorship stems from a chance meeting I had with Forrest in
Blythe at his track last year. He flew in for a Modified race, and it was the
weekend of the Nascar race. He was so easy to talk to, and actually had a lot
more questions for me than I had for him. He and his Wife are very nice people.
I have this vision of a Lucas Oil Speedway series mixed with team racing like
Steve's done..and was done in the early 70's...thinking that maybe if a town had
their own team...it might get folks in the stands. I also know how much is
invlolved in putting on a race, and it's probably one of the worst jobs
anywhere...not to mention thankless. If there is anything I can do at all...let
me know.

I don't know if  It'll helping save or
kill but, I'm riding again so I'm doing something ...  Fixing speedway is like
"EATING A ELEPHANT, " we can't do it in one day ! . Let's nibble away at this
part and then move over to that part ! I suggest putting Jeff and Mike together
;just below the tail and have them chew their way out ( or in ) together !!!
LOL  Let the bitching begin ...Doug Nicol

season shooting and interviewing. We are planning a lot of different changes
(none to the racing side however) especially to pagentary and to the look
because we have daylight savings time on our side. So expect some sort of
lighting and special effects to occur. We will

Thank you for that Steve. There is NO DOUBT that a GROUP effort has more POWER
than one! As I previously mentioned in my email to you.....our organization at
the Stadium of Dreams / Motocross and Xtreme Sports Development Group is focused
on bringing the motorcycle sports that we love BACK into our communities and NOW
is the time to do it! We are in the RIGHT PLACE at the RIGHT TIME to make this
dream a reality for all of us!

I can get the item from Trish wells if you still need somebody.

I will see you Saurday at the races.

Yes Ty, always always! I must admit I tap the message boards more than anyone
else to get race sponsors, but every penny is for the riders. When you are doing
a grass roots racing program it is for sure a team effort and over the past two
years 'fan power' has honestly kept us alive when the economy said 'impossible'!

Thanks for your very generous help this week!

P.s. need more last minute if anyone can kick in.

I have gotten confirmations today that Josh Larse and Gary Hicks will be at
Victorville next Saturday 14th for the Speedway Billy Memorial Trophy meeting
(3pm start). Regulars Buck Blair and Eddie Castro had already signed up and we
have more big names we are hoping to confirm over the weekend.

So far 7 of the 20 heats for sale have gone. If you want to pick up one or more
of the 13 remaining, call or email.

Meanwhile earlier this week I alluded to a special rider who would be confirmed
for this race. It couldn't be anyone more special under the circumstances of the
event - anyone want to make a guess?

Hi Steve....I appologize for not getting the check out yet. I got busy but
wanted to confirm with you that my assumption that 100% of the heat sponsor
money absolutely goes to the riders. Please confirm that my assumption is
correct so the check can go out.

Everything is a hard sell right now. Everyone is scared and waiting for the next
shoe to drop. Image doesn't sell product anymore, we need to show them our
strenghts or numbers....which one do you think we have?

Lucas Oil was a major sponsor at Victorville and at Glen Helen. It was an easy
sell as they like motor sports. All we had to do was go visit with them!
Sometimes you just have to get in the car and go see the guys! Meeting with the
guy in person who your going to ask for a pocket full of money tends to work for
the better more than not! There only in Riverside and friendly people who have a
history with speedway. Shouldn't be to hard a sell.

get his attention. Lucas Oil has been on all of the promoters list to get for
Speedway. Rad Brad Oxley and I have been working on this for the past few
months. Lucas likes TV and we will have to have that together to get any real
money that would help the sport. There will be Lucas people at the event, maybe
Forrest and his wife too, but we did get confirmation and credential requests
from the marketing department. Great idea's people...keep them coming?

pretty amazing. Got to watch out for those British types....they' re coming to
look and possibly steal a few of our Americans for the British League. I'll
probable have to let Steve Evans come and translate!
