Here are some photos from the Barkley 100 mile run I attempted last weekend

I made 25 miles in 19 hours. There were 33 starters and 1 finisher in
56:57, a course record. The weather was 40's and rain at the start, 30's
and rain and dark for the start of the second 20 mile loop, which turned to
2 inches of snow. I dropped after taking 5 hours to go the last 5 miles on
incredibly muddy unmaintained trails with 1000 ft. of elevation change per
mile.
