Mikaela Dworken's three-run homer with two outs in the ninth inning capped a nine-run rally by the St. Paul Saints for a 9-6 victory over Fargo-Moorhead on Friday night in front of 5,289 at Midway Stadium.

The Saints (6-2), who trailed 6-0 after 2½ innings, began their comeback with two runs in the bottom of the third and scored seven runs in the final two innings off four relievers.

Chas Terni's two-run single was the Saints' only hit in the three-run eighth inning. Singles by Justin Hall, Adam Olow and Nick Gretz set up the four-run ninth.

After Kazuhiro Kohno bounced into a fielder's choice, Dworken drilled a 3-1 pitch over the left-field fence for his first homer of the season.

Julio Perez pitched the ninth inning for the victory. Kenny Holubec, a former Twins farmhand, pitched 5 2/3 of scoreless relief.

Redhawks starter Ray Clark worked seven innings, retiring the last 13 batters he faced.

Saints sign veteran: The Saints signed outfielder Scott Samuels on Friday to replace Matt Howe, who was placed on the disabled list because of foot and ankle problems.

Samuels, 33, who bats left-handed, has played pro ball for 12 years. The Cleveland native, who was drafted by the Florida Marlins in 1992, has a .289 career batting average.
