The St. Paul Saints signed former major-league pitcher Roy Smith,
first baseman Nick Gretz and pitcher Mike Meyer.
Smith, who pitched for the Saints in 1998 and 1999, ranks sixth on
the team's franchise list in games started, eighth in innings pitched
and 10th in strikeouts.
Gretz, a 26-year old native of Faribault, played collegiately at
South Alabama and spent three seasons in the Colorado Rockies' farm
system. Meyer, 26, was 10-2 with a 1.52 ERA with Baton Rouge of the
Southeastern League last season.
