I'm surprised to find we're in the American Association now!   Message List

When I joined this group, I had thought we (the Saint Paul Saints)
were still in the Northern League.

Now, I find we're in a new league with an old name - The American
Association!

That's okay, I don't mind, just as long as the St. Paul Saints are
still playing baseball, Minnesota style, if you will.

You know, sixty years ago, there was a St. Paul Saints team playing
at the old Lexington Park, and these Saints, too, were members of the
American Association.

However, that AA was considered Triple-A ball by the standards of
that time.

Now, it's a different situation. Yes, we're Saint Paul Saints, and
we're in the American Association. But it's independent baseball now.

But that's pretty good, as Garrison Keillor would say.

I guess it's true, everything old is new again!

I hope to see you all someday at Midway Stadium!
