Stop being nasty or I will sulk (you
t*t).
Anyway, go to there website and on the opening page they
have a choice of prompts down the left handside. The
third one is there match report.
There address is
http://www.oldwoods.cwc.net/index.html
I warn you though, it
is a cr*p report.
Of the
subject though, good luck to everyone on Saturday!!!!
Although we now have 14 members, it could be a
lot higher, again the more members we get the better
the site will be. Word of mouth, placing the site
address on e-mails you send and links are all good ways
of spreading the word. Again many thanks lads.
Ken

Lighten up, you're not at school now,
so don't be so polite. Call Old Woods a useless
bunch of old t*ssers that were lucky we played at their
place and not ours!

by the way. Where was the
match report on their site, I couldn't find it?
I have posted a photo of the current league table
for the 5th XI. This photo will be deleted next week.
If anyone posts photos, and they become old and not
of interest please delete them, as we are limited to
the number of photos which we can display.
Cheers
lads. Good luck to all teams on Saturday especially the
1st & 4th XI's in their cup ties.
Is d hump 1972 the one and same as that head banger of a goal keeper, friend of
errol, keith and andy........if it is, what 'teams' did ginger baker end up
playing for?????
I have just finished looking at Old Woods website
and suggest that nobody playing in the game against
them read one of the most biased match reports
written. Apparently they cruised to Victory in a
completely one sided game where we did not have a look in.
The truth though, is that they were not Brazil, but a
team which hacked there way to victory. Lofting the
ball high again and again, playing the long ball
perfectly on one of the worst pitches seen this season. As
for us, they forgot that we missed three simple
chances in the first half which would of been easily put
away on a better pitch. As for the goal, I do not
think it was a 50-yard precision pass as much as yet
another lofted long ball to anywhere. None the less, the
result stands and good luck to Woods in the next round.

If you enter the photos section you will see I
have placed the 5th teams cup final picture on the
site. I have a neg.& slide scanner, so if anyone has
any similar pictures they think will be of interest.
Bring your negatives to the club on a Sat. and I will
be happy to do the same.
With 3 big cup draws on Saturday, the club is going well on many fronts. Best of
luck to all concerned, be winners, but most importantly enjoy the game.

hello to everyone who is lucky enough to be part
of this club. let me wish all our teams good luck on
saturday. can i also suggest that team sheets have a little
more information about our respective leagues and how
we stand in them. this will give players a greater
insight into the structure of the southern olympian
league and how are week to week opponents are doing.
we look forward to welcome back top marksman
milne,as goals are becoming a problem.after a good run of
one loss in eight we must get back to
winning.marshall and clifford are back in the sqaud after long
absense, and the skipper may stick to the imaginative 4 3 3
formation.
Don't forget to remind other players and members about the club. sign up for
Yahoo Messenger and we can communicate with each other on a personal basis. IF
YOU WANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After lasts weeks victory against 2nd in the
table Hale End, we travelled to the third placed team
knowing as much rested on the result of this game. The
pitch was atrocious and practically every ball hitting
the ground failed to bounce, consequently we punted
foward at every opportunity. Our frst goal came when a
Mercer cross was turned into the Parkfield net by Wims.
Soon after the same player hit a dipping 30yd volley
into the far corner. The defence held firm for the
rest of the half, which was a magnificent effort in
the conditions.
Parkfield rallied after halftime
and pushed foward constantly as we began to feel the
first half exertions. Watt was at his best with several
saves as the play remained firmly in our half. Against
the run of play Mercer managed to break out and
carried the ball past several Parkfield players before
finishing superbly. The rest of the game was agonising as
Parkfield continued to press and scored two goals in reply.
At the final whistle most of the team could hardly
walk such was the effort by all....
The 5ths remain top of the league and on course
for a league and cup double, after a hard fought 2-3
victory away to Parkfield on probably the worse pitch
ever. Well done everyone, keep it going for the
semi-final next Saturday.
