I did not have very much luck on your latest
queries yesterday at Colindale.
27.10.1888. There is no report in the Bolton Football paper of a match against West Manchester on this date. The League matches are faithfully chronicled around this date and there appears to have been a match against Bootle on 27th. October.
I don't think that this can be right though as
I note that Bootle did not appear until the 1st round proper. Incidentally the first game v West Manchester was declared void and the match replayed (9-0 to Bolton).
17.1.1891, This match was played as a friendly (2-2) because of the state of the pitch ,confirmed in the report.
All other matches I am afraid either had no paper available as they were being reconditioned or there was no attendance or line-ups reported. Regarding Robert Chatt the Michael Joyce Record book has him starting in 1893-94 but presumably you have a query over this.
