I know that Bill Nicholson's first match in charge against Tottenham was their 10-4 win over us, Everton, on 11 October 1958!
 
I beleive he was appointed either that morning or the day before (Friday 10 October).

Bill Shankly - Liverpool
Bill Nicholson - Tottenham
Graham Taylor - Lincoln and Watford
Bobby Robson - Ipswich
Alf Ramsay - Ipswich
Matt Busby - Manchester United
Alex Ferguson - Manchester United
 
Also, which manager has been a manager at most clubs?
 
Which manager has been a manager for the most league games?
 
How many managers have been mangers for more than 1,000 league games?
