BURTON SWIFTS IN THE FA CUP 1892/93   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #176 of 422 |
Dear All

Sorry not another dubious request for friendship but you will have a
friend for life if you can help me out with this one.

I am doing some work on the Burton clubs in the Football League but
sadly trips to far off libraries are more infrequent than I would like
and this bit of info I missed out on on the last visit.

Burton Swifts played Singer's of Coventry in the Preliminary Round of
the FA Cup in 1892/93. The given date for that round was 1st October
but Swifts were at Crewe in a League match on that date. I know it was
not unusual for clubs to double-up with league and FA Cup matches on
the same day but am unsure if that happened on this occassion or if
the FA Cup date was moved.

Can anyone help with the FA Cup date please?

Regards

John
