The first professional club to install and play under floodlights was
Headington United. Their first floodlit game was at the Manor against
Banbury Spencer on 18 December 1950. At that stage only friendlies
could be played under lights, as it was still against FA regs. Prior
to that there had been floodlit games featuring non-professional
clubs, but I'm afraid I don't have any record of those.
