The mantra of Germany v. USA today is "Ihr für uns und wir für euch." Let's live
it out Saturday, March 25, by playing soccer at Candler Park at 11:30 a.m.
Sprechen Sie Deutsch?
o Ja. Deutschland über alles.
o Nein. "Klinsi" ist nicht sehr güt.
o Ich weiß nicht. Trinken wir Bier und essen Sauerkraut?

Esteemed Nottingham Forest manager Brian Clough once remarked, in paraphrase,
that "we can manage without sex, politics or religion, but we can't get through
the month without a game of football." We'll testify to Clough's brilliance
Saturday, March 11, 11:30 a.m., at Candler Park. Will you join us?
o Yes. I'll wear Forest replica kit.
o No. The sheriff of Nottingham Forest seeks me.
o Maybe. Which of the other three--sex, politics or religion--is on offer?

.....a high-school team the other day warming up with our desired,
portable goals. it seemed that a ball of any strength what-so-ever
knocked the goal over.
i think, though, that it did stop the ball, more or less. so you are
trading flipping the goal back upright for chasing the ball (or vice
versa?). which is an upgrade. right?
yours,
william
I've posted the picture from yesterday's action:

As you can see, we were confined in our play to a 9-square-foot raised
concrete drainage cover. This was our refuge from rapidly cresting
floodwaters. But we managed.
Party this Sunday at my warehouse 5-ish

Like it or not, I made it back to Atlanta. Thanks,
Joe and Chelsea for the ride from the airport.
Thanks, also to everyone in Costa Rica, who put me up,
put up with me, and made me feel right at home.
I'd write more about my last week in Jaco, and my
last day in San Jose, but, I am still recovering. My
cell phone is on, so, feel free to call me, if you'd
like to shoot the shit. Cheers

Next Pizza Group Meeting
To celebrate James Pray's return we will meet on
TUESDAY FEB 21
at 7:33pm
at
Grant Central Pizza East
1279 Glenwood Ave Se
Atlanta, GA 30316
Cross Street:
Near intersection of Gresham Ave SE and Glenwood Ave SE
I look forward to seeing you then
Friends,
I am writing you from Jaco. I survived another
beautiful ride, 72kms from Puntarenes to Jaco. On the
way I saw my first crocadiles. I swam on my first
black sand beach in Tarcoles. After, Tarcoles, my
legs blew up for the first time, climbing the most
sadistic hill I've seen yet. The grade was just
barely ridable for my ratio, for about 4kms with no
shade from the mid-day heat. After, four stops, I
finally peaked the hill and it's been downhill sailing
ever since. Jaco is a blast. I have started surfing,
bleached my hair blonde, and, no longer have any clue
about what shit my be happening in the states.
I could tell you a whole lot more, but, it will only
make you jelouse. My only regret is that I can't stay
just a couple more days. The Hooter's girls are doing
a photoshoot at Jaco beach this coming weekend!
Please send money so I can change my ticket!!!!!
Anyways, I get back Friday night. It would be cool
if someone would give me a ride from the airport.
Also, I will be trading strories for drinks apon
returning. Pura Vida

Dear Friends,
life is good to me in Costa Rica. My last mass
e-mail somehow dug up two lost friends from six years
ago, when I lived in Ann Arbor. My ex-roomie, Jenn,
just happens to be living and teaching in Monteverde,
and, another ex-roomie, Megan just happens to be in
Costa Rica visiting. So, a few days ago, I jumped
back on my bike and road to Paquera, took the ferry to
Puntorenes, and then a bumpy, diesel fumed bus ride to
Monteverde. Yesterday, I hiked through the Monteverde
cloud forest reserve and caught up with Megan. It was
great to re-unite with some old friends.
So, tomorrow, I am back on the bus to Puntorenes.
But, instead of taking the ferry to the nicoyo
penninsula, I am cuttin' south on the fixed 72km to
Jaco, where Jessica and a surf board awaits. I just
can't get enough of Costa Rica's dusty, mountainous
roads. Maybe, it's the molasses the tico's spread
over the roads to keep 'em together. But, the road
seems to be callin' this old romantic. Admittedly,
much of the time, you can find me pushin' my old burro
up the steep climbs, and carrying it down the
descents. I can't wait to return with a better fixed,
with a one to one ratio. I am going to miss this bike
when I leave. Unfortunately, I can't afford to bring
the bike back with me to Atl. tears...
pura vida

So who's coming to Fellini's on Saturday, Feb. 11, and, oh by the way, playing
soccer beforehand in Candler Park at 11:30 a.m.?
o I'll be there. Put the mugs on ice.
o I won't be there. The radicchio is better at Fellini's on Commerce.
o I might be there, but what's that about the radicchio?

Hello all & James, I'm glad your there and having a blast I'm having an incredible time in Bogota Those spanish lessons are really paying off. I've seen so much, met so many great people, I can't even begin to tell.
I've have a lot of pictures. Today is the world famous, annual car-free day!
Hi all, I am alive and well in the coastal town of Montezuma, Costa Rica. The fixed gear is riding well.
My first day here, I road an epic 47 km from Paquera to Montezuma, in four hours on hellish dusty roads, hellish heat, and on hellish hills. It was awesome! Now I am monkeyin' around Montezuma with my amigos.
the sea is great. Waterfalls are great. etc. I may never come back. Pura Vida.

This search for El Dorado doesn't seem to be much of an epic quest --
its like you're already there; with your trusty steed/bike.
