that article is nonsensical.
yes, latest game not withstanding, mexico may play better soccer than the
US. but the comments about how many people stayed up to watch soccer and
whether or not they celebrated makes absolutely no sense to me.
is this supposed to support the argument that mexico plays better soccer?
first off, how many people watch, has, at best, only an indirect correlation
to how good the team is. but, what is the non-celebration about? in reality,
it just shows general US disinterest in televised soccer (i say televised
because more people play recreational soccer in this country than ANY other
sport).....not that our team isn't any good....or, for that matter, better than
the mexican team. but couldn't this just as easily be taken as evidence of
how crappy the mexican team is? beating them is so unexciting, the residents
of greeley couldn't even muster the energy to celebrate.
the real question is why katie and her f****** lemond, really posted this
article (btw, i thought f****** was clearly meant tongue in cheek as a
compliment....but now i'm cross-posting)?
