Re: [soccer_atlanta] two days 'til soccer.

Hey William -

I suspect that in "replying" to this message, I'll be imposing my reply on
everyone on the list, so I'll keep it short... I'm in the process of moving to
Decatur/Candler Park/Lake Claire - well as soon as I find a house :) - because
my son is now in school in Decatur and the morning commute is killer - and found
it interesting that you guys are still playing soccer! Maybe when it's warmer
(!) I'll try to keep up with you all - if you have room for another player..

Happy holidays!
Betty

for a good week now, weather forecasters have been predicting cold
(eke!) and light, wispy, magical snow flurries (yeah!) to coincide
with our soccer match on sunday.

i'm not sure what to think about weather forecasters. are they in
favor of america's obesity epidemic? would they rather that we play
rugby? are they bad seeds or merely misunderstood?

anyhow, it is definitely in our hands now. i am a firm believer in
the power of small groups to affect mind-control over weather
patterns, so if we really concentrate, i think we can get delightful
soccer weather. should we focus on a little warmer and a little
drier.....aim for a crystal clear day? or a little cooler, but with
just a smattering of precipitation....guaranteeing our snow?

i'm aiming (read: mentally focusing) for the latter, not too worried
about the cold, as we'll be running about. i'll leave it to your own
devices to select the weather you shall root for.

turn out looks good. on and off list we have seven firm
yesses.....and several additional maybes. our best RSVPing in some
while. the only thing which would cancel soccer at this point would
be icy, pouring rain. that just wouldn't be fun. but anything
warmer, colder, or drier, and we're on.

again, nay to the cleats and the shinguards. but aye to thermoses
full of cocoa. see y'all sunday, the 19th at candler park at 11am.

yours,
william
