i wasn't going for incredibly rude. i was just going for sorta rude.

maybe the emphasis came across harsher in e-mail than i would have
liked it to. probably not though. i'm kind of bitchy. there are no
less than three messages on this listserv (including the one to which
alan was replying) which contained the answer to his question....and
if that isn't an appropriate moment for ribbing.....okay, i'm rude.
i have to say, it makes me feel exhilarated, roguish, on the very
edges of society.

in fact, the person in question has a short history on this listserv
(outside of this incident) of ignoring the contents of the e-mails to
which they are responding.
