I agree with passing on the winter reservation (since I haven't been there lately anyway:). Why don't we just sit on it for now? I trust its in a high-interest account anyway - or maybe a hedge fund would be a good idea?? How about some ford/GM stock
With carryover from the fall season -- we only paid for Iverson Field
for part of the 13 weeks -- and consistent contributions from members
we have $630 in our account.
I'm wondering about the feelings of the group. Do we want to reserve
the field for the winter? My sense is that, with the unpredictable
weather, we might be all right waiting until the March-May season to
make our next payment to the recreation department.
Then we can resume collecting fees in 2009. Or is there some other
investment that we want to make? Goals? Field Turf? An overachieving
hedge fund?
I've been missing the football due to sickness and general malaise. I
trust that our grounds crew has been keeping the park playable
through the wet weather.
