Hey everybody -
I'm looking for comments on my blog (http://runtrails.blogspot.com),
particularly the last entry on "what is runner's high". Thanks in
advance and I hope you're having a good new year.
Cheers,
SD
Hello,
I'm Jessica, I'm 20 years old. When I hit 18 I started running
all the time I loved it. I ran an average of 6.5 miles a day. The
only problom was that it was on an eliptical. So if I tried to run
outside...I'd get winded after 2 minuts or so. Well I just had a baby
so I have to start everything ALL over. Just had as in 4 months ago.
I'm lacking the motivation. But I get a little more each day. I think
my big draw back is I'm afraid to put that much effort in to it again
and how hard it is going to be. Instead of doing everything on the
eliptical. I'm going to do it on the treadmill. That way I can REALLY
run. And eventully I'd like to run a 10K.
So I was just wondering. Does anyone have any advise that could
help me? When I first started I didn't have a training program. I
just pushed myself as hard as I could and kept putting the resistance
and incline up until finally my resistance was at a 12 and my incline
was maxed, 20. SO ya just wondering if anyone had any tricks. I'd
appreciate it much.
Jessy

Hello SoCalTrailRunners,
I'm scheduled for a short visit (in three weeks) and will stay in
Thousand Oaks for 2 nights. My schedule will be pretty flexible, but
I will be with my boss who does not run as much as I (40-50m/week). I
figure we can get 2-3 runs in with 1 in the 10-15m range if we're
lucky.
Any advice re: temps/gear and/or links to trail info would be MUCH
appreicated.
Last trip I got see the mtns. (from the car) and run along the beach
in Sanata Monica, but this time I got to book the hotel ;) We are
from the Boston area & lets just say that I'm looking forward to
leaving my balaclava and goretex at home for a couple of days :)
Thanks in advance,
-Luc

Matt P-
Congratulations on your finish and top
10 placing at the Badwater last week. That was a
mighty fine effort under extremely tough conditions.
Must have been that fine crew support you had. Hope
you & Mona had time to discuss plans to get "Joe's
ass to the Leadville finish line". Good
job.

Do I see a possible Hardrock 100 in the
