Yes, the rumors are true, a new, fast, fun and fierce 5k/10k race is
poised to take place on October 22, 2006 on the streets of Santa Monica.
Destined to be on of the don't miss events of the year, this scenic
course takes you from Ocean Park, up Main Street, along the bluffs of
Santa Monica before a slight downhill finish. And this all ends with a
post-event party on the Santa Monica Pier! This race is for the
exprienced runner as well as the novice athlete. There's going to be
tons of race divisions - so something for everyone!

Why Run, when you can SCRAMBLE! XTERRA is an adventure for runners...
and it ain't your average 10K! It's dirty, dusty, crooked, muddy and
gutsy. Finally a race that will take your breath away.

The inaugural XTERRA Scramble - Boney Mtn. 1/2 Marathon & 5k is
September 30, 2006. This is the 2nd event of the SoCal Series and
features some of the most scenic and grueling trails of Pt. Mugu State
Park. The race start passes through the historic Rancho Sierra Vista
National Park, and some of the trails on the course were used by the
Chumash Indians. All courses will be well stocked and marked and as
usual, we'll have a great post-event breakfast for all the athletes.

Race #5 of the PdR Point Series is in beautiful Solana Beach on August
20, 2006. The race is at Fletcher Cove which is where Lomas Santa Fe Dr.
hits the beach (off I-5). Just like the previous 4 races, the distances
are 1000m swim and two loop 5k run. You can do one leg of the event or
both. Expect some great waves and great weather at this race. As always,

The Thursday Evening Events continue through August. These evening
events are great speed training for PdR Weekend Events, Open Water Swims
and upcoming Triathlons. Work on your open water swim, work on your 5k
sprint, work on gettin out of your wetsuit!! Race dates are August 3,
August 17 and August 31. The 1000m swim kicks off @ 7pm (right after
work) and the 5k run quickly follows at 7:10pm. As always, this is
followed by a post-event dinner/music/raffle before heading off to the
Shack. Hands down, this is the best way to shake off the office stress

This challenging and technical course covers some of the most beautiful
(did we say challenging?) single track trails in the Santa Monica
Mountains. And for the curious ones, La Jolla Canyon is in north Malibu,
not down in the scenic city of the same name). If you're looking to see
some amazing ocean views and some serious fun, come out to this event!
This race features two distances - an 11k and an 18k!

And the season closes with the crowd favorite, the 25th Annual XTERRA
Scramble - Topanga Turkey Trot
