Hi Guys,

I'm up in the Sierras vacationing
with my family at a great little mountain town called
Pinecrest, 30 miles east of Sonora on the western slope of
the Sierras (just north of Yosemite). Have been
having great runs on the jeep roads and trails, spending
time at the lake, fishing, reading (two books
already!), and doing arts and crafts. Saturday I drive to
San Francisco for the SF Marathon (now called the
Chronicle Marathon, thanks to its new sponsor). I will run
it as a training run, perhaps doing the last 13
miles at my goal marathon pace for my Boston-qualifier
in October. The course is new this year: a loop
through the City starting and finishing in Golden Gate
Park. I LOVED the old course, starting at the Marin
Headlands side of the Golden Gate Bridge, running across
the bridge and through SF, but I'm sure this one will
be fun too.

I think planning a "club" run in
August would be fun... Joe and I tried to do that with
the run on the Culo Gordo course we did back in
May...

I'd be happy to map out something in the
Santa Monicas, or would welcome the chance to run in a
new venue (OC, PV, San Gabriels). My only request is
that it be "short" (20 miles max.) due to my marathon
training.

Happy trails,

Matt K.
Hey, I'm still out here. After WS, I'm into doing some semi-serious resting. I also have taken up a new cross training program; resting & eating! Seriously, I ...
