The year end plates have arrived.  I passed a few out to Board members who said they would be seeing certain people.  I plan to have them at the April show to give to those who attend, If you won't be attending the show, and don't see any of the board members, let me know what address I can mail them  to and I will get them out.  Hilari  jmharrisreno@...

A Reminder:

For those of you having received 2010 CDS Plaques that were mailed to the Reno Chapter, you may pick them up at the Tack Shop over at Sierra Feed. Suzan has them in an envelop waiting for you. (You can also check out some of the new spring fashions!)

The *Reno Chapter Spring Show will be May 14th, at Equest Training Center. The judge is Cauleen Glass, 'R', from southern CA. The show will have two divisions, rated and unrated. If you need qualifiying score, we've got you covered. If you just want to get your toes wet in the dressage ring, we've got a schooling division, too. We're looking forward to seeing you.

Hi everyone,

I would like to try to put all of the local clinics on the SNC calendar if possible so that folks have the opportunity to attend or audit. They don't have to be SNC sponsored clinics to go on the calendar so if you are aware of any clinicians coming to town this season, please let me know so that I can post to the website.

Thanks everyone!

Save the date!! June 4th from 10am to 1pm ...

Please join your fellow dressage enthusiasts for what promises to be a fun and informative day as Denis Montagne will present

“Connect to the Core and More…. For You AND your Horse”.

Denise Montagne is a physical therapist with 25 years experience in the field, emphasizing care of the spine. In treatment she utilizes her

Osteopathic manual therapy methods and core strengthening such as Pilates to achieve pain relief, improve strength, balance and motor skills.

Her interest in horses led her to coursework in therapy for animals and in 2009 she achieved certification as an animal physical therapist specializing

in care of our equine friends. Part of her training as an animal PT included studies with Dr.Hilary Clayton of the McPhail Center for Dressage and

Narelle Stubbs PT PhD. They have since co-authored a book titled “Pilates for Horses”.

Denise has been a certified Pilates instructor since 1998 and enjoys teaching athletes of any sport AND anyone willing to treat their body

better through awareness, education and movement. This brief workshop will introduce you to Pilates for you and your horse. In addition, you

will learn other flexibility stretches that can help you and your horse achieve a more supple, connected body.

Plan to wear comfy clothes to allow you perform the human Pilates movements. If you have a yoga mat, bring it, otherwise there will also

be mats provided. We’ll be outside so wear sunscreen. Hilari Fleming has graciously agreed to host this function at her lovely residence.

Her address is 10450 Thomas Creek Road, Reno (the end near Holcomb Ranch Road). If possible, please try to share rides as parking is

a bit limited. I hope to see you there!!! Please respond to me via email if you plan to attend so we will have an approximate head count,

About Revere Saddlery

Our mission is to provide high quality, yet affordable, American-made saddles for competitive horseback riders everywhere. Not only does making our saddles in the U.S.A. allow for us to offer them at lower prices by avoiding shipping, customs and third-party fees, but we can also monitor our hand-made saddles through production to insure our customers get the utmost perfection in workmanship. Many saddle companies contract out their production to Europe and South America, which makes adjustments and customizations very difficult once you have the saddle. When you buy a saddle that was made here, all maintenance and adjustments are taken care of close to home so you can be back in your Revere as soon as possible. With our saddle-fitters and saddle-makers close by, we are always here whenever you need us. When you buy a Revere you will save money, you and your horse will perform better, and you will have the peace of mind knowing we are always a phone call away.

For more information, please visit our website, www.RevereSaddlery.com.

Congratulations and thank you to all the riders this weekend. We saw a lot of great rides and both the judge and TD were very complimentary of both the quality of horses and riders.

I also wanted to give a great big thank you to all the volunteers for the weekend, without you these shows are not possible. Kristen Roberson did a great job drumming up all kinds of volunteers, Kristen can you please pass on a the club’s appreciation to all of your people as I know not everyone is on this email list. Thanks again everyone and we’ll see you at the next show!

We have two educational opportunities coming up.

The 1st one is the "Connect with your Core" pilates for humans & horses on June 4th. Space for this free workshop is limited, so please respond to me @ hmcgee@... if you would like to attend.

Our 2nd free event will be a presentation by Dr. Shane Miller on August 20th. He will discuss injuries common in dressage horses, how to treat them & how to prevent them. More details will be forthcoming, but put it on your calendar now.

                                                   Thank you,
                                                                Holly

Does anyone know of a good dressage trainer in the Vegas area? I know of a girl moving to that area from Indiana who will need a dressage trainer to help her out.

Thanks
Sarah
