The Sierra Nevada Chapter will be hosting a dressage musical freestyle clinic with dressage musical freestyle specialist Diane Kernodle on November 10-11, 2007 at Franktown Meadows Equestrian Center.
The cost to ride in the clinic is $160. The SNC Board of Directors agreed that as a result of a very successful 2007 Dressage in the Sierra show, the SNC treasury will pay the facility rental fee ($450) and Diane Kernodle's traveling and food expenses. SNC members and their guests may audit the clinic for free. (please bring your own chair and snacks)
There are a total of eight (8) riding spots available. Each rider will ride both Saturday and Sunday. Diane will work with each rider matching music with each horse and rider combination, developing choreographed movements for each horse and rider's competition level.
For this SNC clinic, horse and rider combinations must be actively competing at or above first level dressage. The USDF recognizes freestyles at the First, Second, Third, Fourth, Intermediare I, and Grand Prix levels. In order to compete in a freestyle, competitors have to have competed in the highest test of equal level of their freestyle or a test at the next level and received a minimum score at a USDF competition. Please check the USDF guidelines for freestyles for each level's qualification requirements. www.usdf.org
Persons interested in riding in this clinic need to attend the SNC October meeting on Tuesday, October 16th at 6:30PM at the Washoe Flats restaurant on Rt. 395 S in Washoe Valley. Recognizing that some members may have work or on-call restrictions, interested parties may have another SNC member attend the meeting in their absence. All interested and attending parties names' will be pulled from a hat. Eight riders and two alternates will be selected at the SNC October meeting. Payment in full for this clinic is expected at the SNC meeting. Please make checks payable to SNC-CDS.
We hope to see you at the October SNC meeting,
