RE: [snc-cds] Dressage in the Sierra ~ Thank You

Thanks Boss: everyone knows the show couldn't have gone on without you
Beth and your incredible knowledge of what needed to be done (having
done this a few times before) and the ability to COORDINATE IT ALL! I
think it turned out pretty good.

I have a long list of volunteers to thank:

University of Nevada Equestrian team: Even though school started today
I had a ready group of volunteers this weekend who really hung in there
and were great to work with. They did everything from helping Connie
score, to running, to making sure the scribe had tea to drink. It would
have been much tougher without Katie, Kyle, Jen, Sierra, Sarah, and
Yuko. Jen Schefick coordinated it all, but could not attend.

Scribes: A big "thank you" to Kerin Rowe, Libby Lovig, Faith Fessenden
and Susan Ward for your incredible flexibility and patience with
scheduling (especially Libby who also picked up at the airport Saturday
morning, and Susan who dropped off Sunday night).

Jennifer Smith made sure our TD was picked up Friday night and that she
and the judge were fed Saturday evening-thanks Jennifer for all that you
did.

Tamara Peterson and Zoe Martin helped man the hospitality tent where our
scores were posted and wonderful prizes were handed out and Wendy Hays
took care of morning hospitality. Thanks ladies-it was greatly
appreciated.

Michele Ting helped paddock steward Saturday afternoon and Holly McGee
was a runner. Of course Steve and Michele Ting also posted ride times
for us.

Carolyn Graebener aided by Alice Parker took care of snacks and lunch
for the volunteers and show staff. I wouldn't have made it without my
egg salad sandwich. I think all of you for being there when needed.

Mary Jent was kind enough to donate the food for our wine tasting
Saturday night and it was awesome. A special thanks to you Mary for
helping us out.

We really appreciated our volunteer bartenders (notice it took four guys
to do this) Charlie, Jeff, Justin and Lou who I think had a really good
time at their jobs.

We had a very nice tack sale on Saturday thanks to Tish Hicksted, Stacey
Ballard, Tamara Peterson and Vicki Cliff (I might be forgetting someone
as this wasn't my area). Thanks to everyone who supported our junior
membership either through donation or buying something (I think I'm in
both categories).

As you can see this took a village. I'm sure I'm missing other people
to thank - but the truth is many of us did little things to make
everything work and to have a successful show. Thanks again to everyone
who helped.

Finally, a personal thanks goes out to Beth Coffee-Curle for everything
she's done to keep this club afloat this year.

P.S. Thanks to Wendy, Marsha, Susan and anyone else who ended up
holding dear Casper so Alex wouldn't have a hissy during his tests.

Mary Anne Christensen

Subject: [snc-cds] Dressage in the Sierra ~ Thank You

This past weekend, we were blessed with two lovely days of competitive
dressage, hosted in a beautiful setting, experiencing delightful summer
Northern Nevada weather. The weekend was perfect.

I would like to publicly recognize Mary Anne Christiansen for all of her
hard work, dedicated hours, and incredible sense of commitment to this
show, and club. Hours of time are spent in the preparation for a show of
this size before anyone enters the center line at "A", halts, and
salutes. And then the show and the work really start. Mary Anne was
there every step of the way. Please thank Mary Anne the next time you
see her.

Next I would like to thank and recognize our crew of volunteers,
competitors, and supporters that enabled this show to be such a success.
Friendly scribes, smiling runners, funny bartenders, conscientious
photographers, knowledgeable office staff, and nice competitors created
a show atmosphere that can not be artificially produced. I have already
been asked to repeat the wine and beer tasting at next year's show. I
think sometimes we all get so busy we forget how much we enjoy each
other's company.

Thank you,
Beth Coffey-Curle
