Dear SNC members…
We are writing because there are several reminders and deadlines we need to get out to the membership asap. When you have a moment, please review the following.
Award Rules:
We will soon be sending out an email with the 2006 SNC Award Rules. Please take a moment to read through it when you get it. In the meantime, one thing we’d like to emphasize is that riders must be SNC-CDS members at the time scores are earned in order for the score to count towards awards. If you haven’t renewed your membership, please try to do so before the April show.
We have a link to CDS on the web site and they have a “Join” link on their site to make things easy. If you wish to be an SNC member, please be sure to indicate SNC as your chapter preference. If you don’t indicate a preference, CDS will put you in the chapter nearest to your postal address. We want to be sure everyone’s hard work counts!
Awards Dinner & Silent Auction
While we are on the topic of awards, the Annual Awards Dinner is coming up March 10th. The deadline to RSVP is March 1st. If you are planning to attend, please contact Lesley and let her know. Her email address is Lesley@...
We will also be having a Silent Auction along with the dinner and there are lots of fabulous goodies to auction off! This is one of the most fun chapter events of the year and a great fund raiser for the club. Please try to join us in celebration of our members’ achievements and for some good ole fashion fun!
PS If you have an item you would like to donate to the Silent Auction, please contact Cindy at cindyhnv@...
Amateur Clinic
We are still looking for folks interested in the Amateur clinic. SNC-CDS club members interested in attending the amateur clinic as our club representative needs to submit a written application of intent to Beth Coffey-Curle (curle@...) by April 1, 2006. At the April 13th SNC meeting, the names of all applications will be placed into a hat and a rider and an alternate will be drawn out.
April Scribe and Scoring Session
In April, Avalon Friesians will be hosting a scribe training and scoring session. People interested in learning how to scribe and score will have a wonderful opportunity to learn while riders go through tests at each level. Jaki Hardy is currently working on the L program and will be judging the rides.
The morning will start with a short lecture on the responsibilities of the scribe and then we will go through all the tests from Intro to PSG and Jaki will judge the rides as the scribes learn the task of scribing tests.
We already have enough volunteer riders for First level and below but we are still looking for riders for Second level and above. If you are interested in riding, please contact Jaki at jakihardy@... This is a great opportunity for folks to get their horses back into show action before the April show!
We are also still looking for folks interested in learning how to scribe and score tests. If you are interested, please contact Cindy at cindyhnv@...
Thanks everyone, there will be more to come shortly!
