TBN/inline Niagara Skate, Saturday 10am   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #610 of 616 |
Would anyone like to go Saturday 8am for Brock's Monument and make
the http://tbn.ca/inline/ skates? The mid-September weather for
Saturday looks great so far.

Hope to see you this evening at Genesee Valley Park!
John

> from Mike Lin about TBN Niagara Skate this Saturday:

INLINE SKATING: NIAGARA GORGE SKATE
Join us for the scenic Niagara Gorge skate. This is a level 15km
round trip skate starting in the park at Queenston Heights (near
Brock's Monument) and skating south past the Floral Clock, Power
Plant, Horticultural Park and the Whirlpool then back again. Unlike
prior years, we will not be skating the hill at Queenston. The
pavement is generally good and there are a few road crossings. Apres
to be determined but will be in the Queenston area. After the apres
some of us may do an additional skate (unofficial) along the lower
Niagara River between NOTL and Queenston.

Distance / Class: 15 km (shorter/slower) + unofficial afternoon skate
TBD
Time: Meet 10:00am, depart 10:15am
Directions: QEW (Niagara), exit Hwy 405 (exit left just past St.
Catherines Skyway) east, exit Niagara Parkway (last exit before
bridge to USA) and turn left (north) on Niagara Parkway then keep
left and enter Queenston Heights Park (Brock's Monument). We will
meet in the parking lot at 10:00am. If you have any questions or need
a ride email us atinline@... or call leader Randy at 416-565-7920.
Après: TBD, in the Queenston area.
Notes: If the weather is a concern, call the TBN hotline
416-760-4191, line 4, after 7:30 a.m. to confirm whether the skate
will take place. We will try to re-schedule Sunday September 23 if
Saturday is not good. Helmet and wrist guards are mandatory, knee and
elbow pads strongly recommended. Bring water and a snack.
