Please mark your calendar for two dates/times:

On Friday, October 21, 1:00 p.m., at Lock #32 Canal
Park (Clover Road, in Pittsford) the Canal Corporation
is hosting a ribbon-cutting photo-op celebration of
the rehabilitation of the Canalway Trail between Lock
#32 and Long Pond Road. I expect that Carmella
Mantello, recently appointed Director of the NYS Canal
Corporation, will be there. You all are invited to
attend, especially if you can be there on a bicycle or
in-line skates to demonstrate local appreciation and
use of the newly upgraded paved section of the trail.
And please extend this invitation to Adopt-a-Trail
volunteers, as well as friends who are users of the
trail.

The next meeting of our Monroe Regional Canalway Trail
Group is scheduled for Wednesday evening (7:00 to 9:00
p.m.), November 16, at the Genesee Waterways Center in
Genesee Valley Park. This will conclude our Year 2005
Adopt-a-Trail season, and will be an opportunity for
Keith Kroon and me to bring you up to date on Canal
Corporation, Parks & Trails NY, and CTANY activities
and plans for continuing enhancement of the canal
corridor and trail. An agenda for the meeting, along
with draft minutes from our May 11 meeting, will
follow.

above. I will be out of town from 11/3 until 11/14,
