Hi All,
Friday after work Ian dropped by and grabbed me for a skate. We headed
to the sweet, *newly* repaved ~1.3 mile loop around the reservoir atop
Cobbs Hill. After a warm up loop, I skated 6 easy half loop intervals,
resting (sort'a) the other half, and skated another to warm down after
stopping to watch the sun set over the city. Bombing down the hill and
stoking back up was nice!
Then Easter afternoon I skated out the door to the U/Rochester, down
the Genesee Valley Greenway to Peaches, where the pavement ends, and
then back to and around Genesee Valley Park East to Red Creek, all
water and detritus free as summer ever could be.
This weekend, if it's not a washout, I might skate the River Trails
East and West. Would anyone like to go, anytime except Saturday morning?

Even more *urgent* than early registration is late checkout Sunday
afternoon. See http://FreedomSkate.org. Do a hundred registrants, about
20-25% of eventual totals, figure to half of Sheraton's room allotment,
or even more of the non-smoking ones with double beds? I have already
reserved mine with late checkout. If you don't reserve yours with time
for a shower, you're not riding back with me. ;-)
As the first registration deadline approaches, since holding
reservations and late checkout cost nothing, requests might soon reach
quota. This year Freedom Skate reverts to the hotel where it had always
been, except last year. Although hotel management has turned over and
policies have changed, I can try to negotiate these benefits as I had
last year, using block bargaining power. Should anyone need, I can
quickly replicate last year's Philly Skate Evite and activate it at
