I just learned, YahooGroups added a "Marketing Preferences" page to
everyone's account. They set all defaults to "Yes", so you must "opt
out" from every choice if you prefer no e-mail advertising or marketing
communications. Yahoo plans to send announcements, but may take several
weeks.

Click http://subscribe.yahoo.com/showaccount and log-in to see your
marketing preferences. Note also the two choices near the bottom about
postal and phone solicitations!
