Hello Syracuse Skaters!
Summer won't be around much longer. So come on out and join us for our monthly
city skate in downtown Syracuse - this Friday night, August 24th at 7:30pm.
We'll meet at the Everson Art Museum as usual, but this month we plan to take
you up West Genesee Street to the Westcott area of the University District.
There are some hills on this route, so you must have a solid heel brake or
T-stop technique so you can control your speed.
"Blinkie lights" or reflective wear are a good idea. Flashlights are
optional. While no one will force you to wear your helmet and safety gear, it is
always highly recommended when skating city streetsat night. Last, city skates
are just an "organized coincidence." so you are skating at your own risk.

P.S. Remember, we're still doing Freestyle Nights in our lesson area in Onondaga
Lake Park every Thursday from 6pm until dusk. Music, pickup roller hockey,
cones, free Bladefitness class from 7pm-7:30pm (full gear required forthe
Bladefitness class.) Even if you're just learning to skate, come on down and
practice and hang out with the rest of the skaters. Instant popularity
guaranteed if you bring snacks to share!
