Hello Runners,
Tomorrow night @ 6:30 we are having our 1st Thursday run in Anacortes on the
Tommy Thompson trail. We are meeting in the parking lot just east of 21st and
"R" ave. This is the newest of our weekly runs held by FootwoRx and Skagit
Runners. This run will be either 6 or 8 miles depending on what the group wants.
Diana "Slug" Robinson is offering a free marathon to anyone that wants to
attend. This is a low low key event. The marathon is on Saturday 12/31/05 8:00
am, on the Interurban in Bellingham, and is called "Last Chance Marathon". She
will be using our timing watches and a few of our water jugs. It is a double
loop starting at Fairhaven Park to Larrabe Park. There will be water ever 3 to 4
miles. Steve Duncan, Jim Kopkowski, and I are all running in it. If anyone else
is interested just meet us at Fairhaven Park. Also if you would like to help out
with timing, water or whatever I am sure she could use some help.
We also have a run planned for the same night (12/31/05) in Anacortes on the
Tommy Thompson Trail. We are meeting in the parking lot just east of 21st and
"R" ave at 11:30pm. We will run 6 miles out to the end of the trestle (by the
refineries) and back to "RUN in the new year".
Bill Arnett has finished the newsletter. He will be mailing it out on Friday
or Saturday. 2006 Membership renewals will be included in the newsletter. 2006
is going to be an exciting year. The Arts Crafts Festival, Anacortes Parks &
Rec, and Skagit Runners are working on a new run in Anacortes. The run will be
in conjunction with the Arts and Crafts Festival on 7/29/06. Our membership
committee is working on benefits for members, and activities we can offer
members. Any and all ideas are welcome.
Happy New Year Terry
