We have offered slower folks running our race the opportunity to start the race
early in the past. Should we offer a 7:00 am start time for slower runners and
require them to carry hydration packs or bottles to get them by for the first
couple of hours. Carol Dillenger from Spokane has run our race for 19 years,
knows our route well, and has a hydration pack. She also runs a lot of Marathons
so I feel very comfortable with letting her start an hour early. If we open this
door to other runners are we setting ourselves up for problems? I know a lot of
other Marathons allow this, what are the legalities with this option?
Terry
