Membership, Marathon Maniacs have started a new marathon in Tacoma this year.
They plan on making this a big event like the Seattle Marathon and Seafair
Marathon. They are in need of help, lots of help. If you can help out I am sure
they will appreciate it. They are offering a FREE Marathon race jacket to
volunteers. If you can help and want a FREE jacket just fill out the
questionairre link in this email so they can assure you get a jacket.
I am going to help out on Saturday 5/12, the early shift if anyone wants to car
pool down there.

Subject: Parker Paint Tacoma City Marathon


Hello friends, (you may get this more than once over the next few months so I
apologize in advance).

I have a favor to ask you, Tacoma, and beyond. As you may have heard there is a
new race in town, "Tacoma City Marathon".
I am proud to team up with good friend and owner of Fleet Feet Bonney Lake Paul
Morrison to help bring this event to Tacoma. To make it all possible we need
volunteers, many volunteers.

If you know someone that is not running in the Tacoma City Marathon and would
like to take part in this great new tradition please ask them if they would be
willing to volunteer.
In order of importance we need:
1.) Course volunteers "120 volunteers 18 years or older" ( times vary depending
on placement (6:00 am to 1:00 pm) when the last runner passes your position the
road opens and your done) We have a fair number signed on already but we need to
fill all 120 positions ASAP.

Volunteer Orientation is at: Tacoma Dome Hotel, Thursday April 5th @ 6:00 pm in
the Seahawk room. All course marshals are required to attend please.

2.) May 11th, Expo registration tables and other duties "25 volunteers each
shift", 2 shifts ( 11:00 am to 4 pm and 4 pm to 8:00 pm )

3.) May 12th, Expo Registration tables and other duties "30 volunteers each
shift", 2 shifts ( 9:00 am to 2 pm and 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm)

4.) Finish line help " 20 volunteers each shift" ( 8:00 am to 11:30 am and 11:00
am to 3:00 pm )

5.) Will be having water stations manned by running clubs mostly, if you are
interested in getting a water stop together please email Eric Bean at
ericbean@... ( Stations 1 through 6 will be watering all races so they
will need the most persons )
