Membership,
The club is soliciting members to join our scholarship committee. If you
have ever wondered what is involved in developing scholarships, distributing
scholarships, or want to be part of deciding the criteria for this years
scholarship, we would really like your help. We will meet for our first meeting
on 2/22/07 6:30pm at Alfy's Pizza in Burlington WA.
This past Sunday 2/11/07 we held our first weekend run at Heart Lake in
Anacortes. Most of the runs will be on trails in Anacortes and Sedro- Woolley.
We have also talked about running the trails on Chuckanut Mountain, and road
training runs. Joe, Dean, Dr.Rob and myself are going to try to host a run every
weekend. Steve will post a schedule on the website, www.skagitrunners.org,
sometime in the next week. Remember these runs are fun runs. Our goal is to
leave NO ONE behind. It is easy to get lost in the trails around Anacortes, so
we will make sure every runner has someone to run with that is familiar with the
trails and knows how to get back to the parking area. We will have some type of
snack, and water and/or juice available for runners at the end of the run.
Please come and join us on a weekend run.
Dr. Timothy Wittman, Race Director of the Dog Island Run sent us his new
entry form (attached to this email) for this years run. This is a Skagit Runners
Managed Event, please join us in this great local run and help support the
Guemes Island Liabrary Fund.
