Last week Keefer Whan and Kevin Ryan asked the club if we would accept their run
a managed event. I sent an email to all of our board members and asked for their
opinion and for a vote on this issue. I received emails from 7 of the 8 board
members, they all voted yes, to make Nookachamps a Skagit Runners Managed Event.
Managed Events are events that we don't own. The only owned Skagit Runners
Events are the Tulip Run, Skagit Flats Marathon, and the Fowl Fun Run. In order
for a run to be a Managed event the event must abide by the following rules:
1) The event must follow RRCA Guidelines, and Skagit Runners constitution and
bylaws.
2) The event must be accepted by Skagit Runners Board as a Skagit Runners
Managed Event.
3) Skagit Runners must be involved with the planning of the event, not just
helping out on day of race.
4) The Race Director must be a club member.
5) The event must use Skagit Runners logo and the RRCA logo on all publications
and advertisements.
They will not be able to abide by the last rule since their event is in less
than a month and all their applications and advertisements have been made.
