Skagit Runners Membership,
I had planned a Marathon Volunteer dinner and meeting for this Thursday
10/5/06 at 6:30, unfortunately Alfys has both of their rooms booked with one
large party. They do however have the large room open on Friday night. So I
booked the large room for Friday night 10/6/06 @ 6:30pm. This actually works out
better for me. I have that day off so I won't be quite as tired at the meeting.
We have a few give always that we saved for the volunteers. Jim is putting
together a list and will raffle them off at the meeting. I will also bring the
left over shirts. If you didn't receive a shirt you can pick up one then. We are
also going to recap the marathon, and talk about what changes we propose to make
next years marathon go smoother. Thanks for all your help making this year work
out like it did. We may have been short handed, but the members that were there
did a great job of making it look like we had plenty of help.
Now that the Marathon is over, and we have completely moved into the new
storage unit, we need to think about supplies for the next 12 months. Please
come to the meeting with some ideas that might make our races smoother.
The club purchased three Rubbermaid totes, one for finish line supplies, one
for registration supplies, and one for course supplies. I put together a supply
list for each tote. It is laminated and will be in each tote. Before we take the
tote out we just need to make sure we have all the supplies listed. Steve just
about ran out of staples for the staple gun (we only had one staple gun for a
while), Keefer had a tough time finding a sharpie.
We also have a check out and check in sheet at the new storage unit.
Whenever a club member borrows an item they need to check it out and check it
back in, so we know where it is when we need it for the next race. I am hoping
this will solve a few of the problems we had this past year. I would also like
members to list items that we are running low on a "Shopping List" that will be
posted at the storage unit. Since we really don't have anyone to monitor the
inventory in the storage unit we all need to work on keeping the supplies needed
for races well stocked. Maybe we can elect an equipment manager to handle the
inventory in the storage. They would be in charge of letting either the
President or Treasurer know when they need to purchase items for the club, and
assure we have adequate supplies for races prior to the races.
I would like to plan the board elections meeting on Friday. All board
members that will be present please bring your ideas. I will be gone from 10/11-
10/16 running a couple of marathons, and the weekend of 10/27 - 10/19 running
the Marine Corps Marathon.
If anyone would like to be considered for a position let Bill Arnett
(wsarnett@...) know. We would really like new members to get involved with
some of the positions open. Bill and Steve we need to get a slate of officiers
asap.
