Tulip Meeting   Message List

The meeting went well tonight.
Karen Andrews discussed her race, the Bayview Women's run on 5/20/06. They
have a great local run in Bayview, men can run it but they won't be eligible for
an award. It is one of the oldest runs in the county 20+ years. Keefer and
Skagit Runners have helped out with this race for many years. They have
exceptional leadership, organization, and the money raised goes towards a great
charity. It helps women that have been involved in domestic violence. Many of
the women they've helped run the race yearly. I am personally grateful that
Skagit Runners can be a part of such a great cause.
Jim Kopkowski Tulip Co-RD discussed the upcoming Tulip Run on 4/8/06.
Everything is going great with the planning of the run. We are looking into
having a follow-up meeting in a few weeks to pick up any loose ends and finalize
the schedule for the volunteers. Dean and Jim will set up the meeting. Jim took
notes and will let me know what else needs to be done by mid next week.
Dr. Beth discussed her run, The Dog Day Dash, on 8/19/06. She would like us
to provide finishline help, course setup, and traffic control.
I discussed the 1st Anacortes Parks & Rec Art Dash, on the Tommy Thompson
Trail, 5k and 1/2 Marathon, on 7/29/06. They would like help with timing,
course setup, and advice.
Tesoro 5k & 10k will be held on 7/15/06. We will provide the clock and
timers. They setup their own course and have their own finishline help.
I distributed Skagit Runners membership cards to all of the members that
have paid their dues for 2006 at the meeting tonight. I will take the remaining
cards to FootwoRx in Mount Vernon on Monday evening. Dues were due by 1/15/06.
It's not too late to renew memberships. Membership applications are at FootwoRx
and on line at www.skagitrunners.org . FootwoRx still has some of our shirts,
if you pay there you can also pick up a shirt. Every renewal receives a Skagit
Runners Hi-Tech shirt for renewing while they last.
Keep on Running!
Terry
