Hi Bob, just interested to know the last time Charlton and Southampton played in
Division 3 (as was).

It must be a new record for two longtime denizens of the top of the League to
both fall into the depths in the same season, if that is Southampton do suffer
that fate of course.

The amount of ribaldry on the Palace fans' site confirms that the Addicks are
definitely our new club to hate, I think this stems from the treatment we got at
the end of 2004/5 where we were relegated from the Premiership after a draw at
the Valley.

If Leeds don't go up via the play-offs, the First Division next season could be
really interesting, especialy for Brentford if they go up - they should. I saw
the Bees play Charlton in the old Div 2 in 1992, and Southampton in the Cup
about 4 years ago, when they were still in the Premiership. For them it will be
a massive loss of face, particularly against Pompey fans.

Hi everyone,

Just a reminder you to come and visit the Sixties and Seventies Soccer Group at
Yahoo.

If you have heard some news of the stars from the 60s and 70s (well 80s, too,
we're not that fussy) please write to tell us.

Or if you spot a new website, you think others in the group would like to visit
pass it on.

Or if you have any suggestions on how to make the group better I'm always keen
to know your views.

Please come and read the latest emails from the group at:

http://groups. yahoo.com/ group/sixtiesand seventiessoccer/

Or read the latest headlines at:

http://ds.dial. pipex.com/ bob.dunning/ boband.htm

Cheers

Bob

P.S. The reminder cannot be sent less often than monthly, but if you don't like
getting just get your own back by sending me a match report of any game where
Leeds were heavily beaten and I'll feel suitably chastised.

It never is smart to rub any teams nose in it when they are relegated. QPR's last match in the Premier Division in 1996 was away at Forest. The Forest fans...

The added spice to the Palace/Charlton rivalry was of course their enforced time as "guests"at Selhurst from 1988 onwards after the Gliksten's threw them out...

I don't know if this pushes the boundaries of libel, so I'll word my thoughts cautiously. I'm sure most will recall the season Everton were almost relegated...
