I was given his autobiography for Christmas.Saw him in very early 70's
in Oxford's first Division 2 match (now Championship).The Oxford left
winger was basically an athlete,a TOP athlete,Colin Harrington,very
tall.If he remembered the ball and did not beat himself he was
sensational.(He still holds youth track-records at Iffley
track,Oxford,venue for the Bannister first sub 4 minute mile).Colin was
on form that night and kept pushing the ball down the line and
running.Well,poor old Jimmy (still at Blackpool,not then at Leeds
Bob),said he was the fastest he had ever played against.I well believe
it ! Another VERY fast player (a little later) was Clive Walker at
Chelsea.
