I just read in a Norwegian newspaper that Alan Shoulder, at 51,
still playes for his team Willington AFC (sponsored by a brewery!) in
the Albany league. He's old enough to have played in 1970/71, isn't
he? I know he played for Newcastle in the 70s, but don't know much
else about him or his career. On the night before Newcastle's recent
UEFA-cup game against Vålerenga (well, last Tuesday, actually),
Shoulder and Willington played Vålerenga's 'Old Boys Team'and won
comfortably 4-1.
