Great weather for a twilight ride. We are planning to do it again this next
Monday. If it is too cold or rainy it has been suggested that we take up
indoor biking at the local pub.

Ride time 6pm
Glacial Drumlin
Take I-94 west to Hwy G (Meadowbrook Rd) south 4 miles to the Glacial
Drumlin
trail.

We hit the Glacial Drumlin for a 21 mile'r last night. It was dark when we
finished so next week a few more of us are planning to bring head lights.
George was our only head light last night. Good job George! The Glacial
Drumlin is not too bad in the dark as there is no "bad road" to watch for or
cars to contend with. So, next week we are doing it again.
Ride Time 6pm
Take I-94 west to Hwy G (Meadowbrook Rd) south 4miles to the Glacial Drumlin
trail.

We also had a great Mountain Bike ride at Southern Kettle on Sunday morning
and are planning to go again this Sunday.
We are meeting at the parking area on the west side of the road (Hwy H)
north of LaGrange about 1 mile. LaGrange is at the
intersection of Hwy12 & Hwy H. Meet in the parking area at 10am.

Oh what a ride. Top average speed of the season at 19.7mph on a hilly
course!! It is amazing what can be done when running out of daylight. Nice
route Steve and Joyce.
We decided to push out another ride next Monday on the Glacial Drumlin from
the west side of Waukesha.
Take I-94 west to Hwy G (Meadowbrook Rd) south 4miles to the Glacial Drumlin
trail. 6pm.

Also, a few of us are planning to Mountain Bike at Southern Kettle this
Sunday morning. We are meeting at the parking area on the west side of the
road (Hwy H) north of LaGrange about 1 mile. LaGrange is at the
intersection of Hwy12 & Hwy H. Meet in the parking area at 10am.

We had a very nice 20 mile ride from Menomonee Falls hosted by Steve &
Joyce. We are riding from the same location next week Monday. We are
really starting to run out of light now so get in your last shots. A heads
up, we are planning on some Sunday Morning Mountain Biking in the near
future to replace the Monday night rides. Packer Game watching after the
rides at my place or wherever.

Meeting place is at Village Bowl in Menomonee Falls.
Hwy 74 (i.e. Main St.) west of Hwy. 41/45 1-2 miles on the North side of the
street.

Ride Time: 6pm

We had a 22 mile ride from Nashotah last night. Just enough light to get
the job done. Thus next week we need to move our ride time to 6pm.
Steve & Joyce have offered to host the ride next week Monday.
Meeting place is at Village Bowl in Menomonee Falls.
Hwy 74 (i.e. Main St.) west of Hwy. 41/45 1-2 miles on the North side of the
street.

We had great weather for a great ride on the Glacial Drumlin Trail to the
west out of Waukesha. Brian decided to use his road bike like a mountain
bike with a little diversion off the black top at about 25mph. It was so
graceful it looked planned? We managed to get 20 in and still have a little
light remaining at the end.

With Monday being labor day we decided to set next weeks ride for Tuesday
night at Red Circle Inn in Nashotah.
Ride Time 6:30
Hwy 16 west to Hwy C south to stop sign right to Red Circle Inn parking lot.

Just a heads up, riding on the Glacial Drumlin requires a pass. I think it
is about $10. They are available on the trail.

Last night George led us on a fun 20 mile ride from his home in the Pewaukee
Lake area. We took in part of the paved Glacial Drumlin State Trail for a
change of pace. Post ride refuling was enjoyed at Ike's Pub.

Next Week:
Meet at Frame Park in Waukesha for a ride on the Glacial Drumlin State Trail
to the West.

To get to Frame Park:
I-94 to Hwy 164 south to Moreland (the lights) left across the Fox River and
right shortly after the River (before the RR tracks) into the park.

A few of us rode last night from the Nashotah, Red Circle Inn, location. It
was a very nice evening for a ride as it was a little cooler.

Next week we are resuming our plan to Ride from George Slavsky's house in
the Pewaukee area at 6:30pm. Light is starting to get scarce so please be
as prompt as possible and ready to go.

From Milwaukee:
Take Interstate 94 West to Exit 290. This is Hwy SS.
Take Hwy SS North about 1/3 mile to Oakton Rd.
Take Oakton Road West about 6/10 of a mile to Louis Ave.
Turn right onto Louis Ave.
Take Louis Ave 1/4 mile to my house.
The address is N22 W28621 Louis Ave. The house is on the left side of the
street.
The house is a yellow/beige color with brown trim.

I think the post ride plan is Ike's Pub.

Last nights ride was once again well attended by 10 riders. We broke into
three groups with the fastest group averaging better than 18mph. Nona and
Debbie managed to avoid the big-bad snapping turtles as they took a short
cut and crossed the river in Stone Bank due to bridge out --Mighty Brave!
Out side of a beer flood at our table (Ron), dinner and drinks were enjoyed
at the Nashotah Club House after the ride.

Next week: Return to Nashotah 6:30pm
Hwy 16 west to Hwy C south to stop sign. Red Circle Inn parking lot on SW

Last nights ride in the Holy Hill area was well attended and well liked.
One of the originators of the Monday night ride, Nona, was able to make the
ride --No broken bones! We rode about 20 miles on the quiet scenic winding
roads. After-bike food and refreshments were enjoyed at the Roadside Bar in
Lake five. With these being the longest-light days of the season we have
decieded to do this ride again next week.

Meet at the Plat school parking lot located at the intersection of Plat Rd
and Monches Rd at 6:30 pm.
Basic directions to this intersection are: From Hwy 41. Hwy Q west 8 miles
to Plat Rd. (which is on the west end of the town of Lake Five). North on
Plat Rd. 1 mile to the intersection of Plat & Monches Rd's. School is on NW
corner.

Fellow Bikers... We had a wonderful ride this Monday from Dave and Sandy
Holzhauer's home. We knew we were off to a great start as pulling out of
the driveway when we heard a loud "Gordy -what the hell are you doing" from
Dave Shultz . I guess they both decieded to be in the same space at the
same time which did not seem to work very well. They were noticed riding
together shortly after this incident with no further problems... We were
treated to Brats, Hotdogs, Coleslaw etc., and carb replacement drinks (beer
etc.) after the ride. After the carb replacements we boldly applyed good
judgment in decieding next weeks ride in the HolyHill area as follows:

Meet at the Plat school parking lot located at the intersection of Plat Rd
and Monches Rd at 6:30 pm.
Basic directions to this intersection are: From Hwy 41. Hwy Q west 8 miles
to Plat Rd. (which is on the west end of the town of Lake Five). North on
Plat Rd. 1 mile to the intersection of Plat & Monches Rd's. School is on NW
corner.

If you're looking for something different to do on your bike, come ride
with the Waukesha Hash House Harriers ("a drinking club with a running
problem"). Normally their get togethers are cross country runs, but
occasionally they do a "Bash" - a Biking Hash.

A little heads up about this Bash. The trail will be marked by any
combination of the following, flour, pieces of surveying tape, TP, and
possibly chalk. You will encounter different shaped marks that give you a
general idea of which way to go. These marks will be explained at the
"circle up" before the start of the ride.
The whole point of marks is it keeps the ride interesting, and doesn't let
the fast riders get ahead of the rest of the pack as they're generally are
the ones who find the false trails and then have to catch up with the rest
of the group who found the true trail. There will be lots of yelling
"on-on" and whistle blowing to let you know who is on trail. There will
also be one or more "rehydration stops" where you may rehydrate with your
favorite refreshment. And finally, at the end of the trail will be the
"on-in" which is where the party is. There you will be treated to numerous
drinking songs, stories of previous hash events, and information about the
next hash run.

For more information about the Hash, check out the following site:
http://www.gthhh.com/

Here's the details of the upcoming Bash. Hope to see you there.

On Sunday June 9th
Come join me on the first bash of 2002.

Start time: 3pm
Start Location: The northeast corner of the state fair grounds.
Thats by the intersection of 76th St. and I-94.
                  The park-n-ride parking lot.
Hare: Hand Solo

The trail will be combination of road and off-road. I recommend that only
mountain and hybrid bikes attempt it. Road bikes will probably have a hard
time of it!! I'm not sure how off-road this trail will actually be, but I
will try my hardest to find as much off road as i can.

As for weather: Only if it's rain hard, thunder storming, or snowing(it's
wisconsin you never know) will the bash be canceled. Also if it gets to
cold the bash will also be canceled. If it's only raining lightly the bash
will go on. If the bash is canceled and you still show up, those that show
up can always just go to a bar. The hare is obligated to show up to the
start and tell those that show up that the bash is canceled. If will take
some pretty bad weather to cancel a bash.

On-ON

Another cool one (in more than one way) was this weeks ride. Helmets off to
