first they say the police will be enforcing it (yes the have better things to do) but it'll be their rent a cops.....

I heard that Jazz in the Park will not allow carry-ins this year, is this true?

Yes. Per Wisconsin State law, it is illegal for patrons to bring their own alcoholic beverages into the park for consumption. (Wisconsin State Statute 125.32(6)(a) - No person may possess on the premises covered by a retail or wholesale fermented malt beverages license or permit any alcohol beverages not authorized by law for sale on the premises.)

How will the policy be enforced? Who will enforce it?

Security at event will be well trained and increased from previous years. Patrons entering the event from multiple entrance points (based on traffic patterns not any type of fencing) will be informed of the policy and asked to return their “carry-ins” to their vehicles or discard them in garbage receptacles and they will be given a flyer outlining the policy.

Heres the bottom line !

How will you avoid lengthy lines at the bars?

We will make certain to have enough point-of-sale locations to accommodate the guests at the event.

You are really doing this to make more money, aren’t you?

Many people are skeptical about the underlying reasons behind this change in procedure. We hope that our true Jazz in the Park fans know the organizers of the East Town event better than to think that this decision is fiscally driven. The staff and board of the Association are committed to this event and passionate about the neighborhood. We work tirelessly to ensure a high quality, safe, memorable experience for all Jazz in the Park attendees. Keep in mind that Jazz in the Park is produced by Music in the Park, Inc., a non-profit organization whose mission is below. Jazz in the Park has never been profit driven and that will not change moving forward. Please consider that the event is FREE and all income generated goes to offset the large and growing expenses associated with producing the event.

What next cover charge????  Jazz fest????
