Early in the day it was not looking to good for our ride plans but it
sure turned into a nice evening with dry roads and moderate temperatures
(70's). So often the Holy Hill rides are in brutal heat and humidity.
However, the moderate temp's did not stop us from working up a good
sweat! We pushed a good 20.3mph average pace. We also had a new rider,
Ross, from New Zealand! Welcome Mate :-). A few beers, food, ice-pack
therapy, stretching, and biking conversation were enjoyed after the ride
at Uncle Jonnies.
Next week no Monday ride due to 4th of July Holiday. Instead we will
ride on Thursday July 6th as follows:
Meet: Uncle Jonnies Bar in Lake Five. From Milwaukee take Hwy 41/45
North to Hwy Q (north end of Menomonee Falls) west (about 7 miles) Uncle
Jonnies Bar on the North side of Hwy Q about 0.25 miles west of Hwy Q
and Hwy 164 intersection.
Time: Meet 6:15, Ride 6:30
Shortcut options are provided for those that do not want to ride the
entire route.
Finally, it is Tour de France time once again. Saturday July 1st is
Prologue. Check out OLN for live coverage and many reruns through-out
the day. One of Lance's teammates of several years is a hopeful for
this year! Who could that be...
The Quotable Cyclist Says:
"Everybody likes to say how one Tour de France is better for a climber
this year or a time trialer another. But come July, it's simply the
best legs that win." --Johan Bruyneel (Lance's past Coach)
Have a Patriotic 4th of July
