I just saw this on the USCHO website. YAHOO!!!!! Finally - there is someone
in an organization that is not "all PC" and afraid of a few squeaky radicals!!
11-3-2002 ... The NCAA Management Council has turned down a requet by the
Minority Opportunities and Interests Committee to reconsider the awarding of the
Division II men's basketball championship to North Dakota's Ralph Engelstad
Arena. Any reconsideration could also have affected the 2006 men's Division I
ice hockey regional, also scheduled for Engelstad. The MIOC submitted a request
for reconsideration out of concern over North Dakota's "Fighting Sioux"
nickname.
