Re: Excellent win tonight

They were at a totally different game, I don't remember Darryl having much to do
outside of claiming the odd cross.

How representative is this report of last night's game on BBC? We must
have been lucky then. Of course it was all down to the midget losing.
No credit as usual.

Southend 1-0 Leeds

Lee Barnard got the game's only goal on his full Southend debut to
ensure incoming Leeds manager Gary McAllister will have to take over a
losing side.

Former Spurs forward Barnard touched home in the 41st minute after
keeper Dave Lucas could only get a hand to Steve Hammell's 25-yard
free-kick.

Earlier, David Prutton and Andy Hughes had forced good saves from
Southend keeper Darryl Flahavan.

Tresor Kandol also fired a good chance wide, but Southend ran out
winners.

Agreed Ian,

We kept a clean sheet
Great to see a 'sniffer' up front
We beat a team who featured in the Champions League semi finals not so
long
ago.
We can close the gap on Orient further on Saturday (unfortunately
Thornton
may be injured - was looking forward to 'greeting' him).

Wonderful! Fired up the PC and a result from heaven. Now that Wise has
deserted his troops ( very unclassy as far as I am concerned).

A battling performance as per the match report. Now a few more wins and
we
are back at the races!!!!!!

I admit I am a Southend United addicted fan for life. But I am in
therapy
and now also support Toronto FC in the M.L.S. Optomism runs very deep in
the
genes. So take me for what I am. League One for this season.
