That's a difficult question because there is so much to choose from and it's all
important. But if I had to choose, I'd go with 1&2 pinan for the stances and
pivots, statue of the crane for the structure and balance and 1 kata because it
introduces kicking &4 kata because it uses very tight circles. For
combinations, I'd start with 6&7 because they're easy to learn. I'd use #15
because of the cross behind 19 because of the kempo roundhouse and 21 because
of the major reap. As for animals, two crane, 2 tiger, 2 dragon, 2 snake and 2
leapord.
That was a very interesting question, it forces you to think about what's in
your material and how important some lessons are in relation to others. I
thought the answer would be easier at first but I found myself having to go
through all my material to find the answers. Sometimes we get so involved
learning new material, we forget to think about the importance of what we have.

If you had to limit your material to get yourself or a student to
black belt. Pick 5 forms, 5 combinations and 10 animals kempos...2
of each animal.
