I have been working on a student manual for some time now. I have
seen some others with good points and bad points...nothing
outstanding...until now. Sifu Bryan Bagnas has an excellent student
manual out there: Well organized; detailed; well explained; full of
complimentry information of use to the beginner student and the
advanced practioner; he blends the traditional SK material with the
Hawaian Kempo he hass from Sijo Gascone in a manner that is inspiring
(we all need that from time to time). As I read the material I am
stuck by the incredible amount of work that has gone into it, it is
almost doctorate level material. he history alone is worth the price
and the organizational information from how parents can help
encourage the students at home to tips on practicing; discussions
about plateaus of training and the admonition to the advanced ranks
to beefriend and be models to the less senior students!!! AS an
instructor I find myself well tutored by this manual for students in
how to communicate the essentials of organizing a dojo. Yet I must
stress that the manual is full of interesting and inspiring
techniques and forms and training drills and....More than worth the
money
We should all encourage Sifu Bry to get his video series out. this
kind of thing from a quality instructor (*as he obviously is) is
invaluable to our community and our art.
Thank you Sifu Bagnas for you efforts and work and inspiration.
Respectfully,
Marlon
