Kempo response...

Kempo is everywhere. There are a couple schools in IL
and over 300 nationwide...at least. You are going to
get three types...Villari's, United Studios of Self
Defense, and offshoots of both of those. USSD is more
business oriented and Villaris is more martial arts
oriented...though Im sure there are a little bit of
both in each of them. I would stay away from USSD (I
taught for them for 12 years). They are money
oriented and the instructors are not that good....they
are quickly passed through the system to open knew
schools. We were taught to "build up" Charles
Mattera to our students but he isnt as good as we
claimed him to be. Plus, USSD is very expensive.
Villaris is a better self defense school and most of
the instructors Ive seen know their stuff. If it is
an offshoot of either of those than you might want to
find out where they got thier training from. I was an
offshoot from both USSD and Villaris. What I mean by
offshoot was that I didnt have any affiliate with
either of them but that is where I had recieved my
training. Usually you wont get too many politics with
an offshoot school. I hope that helps. If I can be
of any help please ask.
Matt
