For the study guide, yes it is one sitting with two hours to finish.

I think Jason was asking about the ratings forms, which do not have a time limit.

Can we start working on the form online and then return later to
finish? Or
do we have to finish it and submit it in one sitting?

This is done for security purposes. If any part of it is incomplete or has invalid characters, a box will appear that says that you need to complete a section or that you can't use a character in that field.

The online form is definitely the easiest way to go. If you are a complete technophobe, then you may choose to do ratings on a Microsoft Word form that you print out. There are two options. One is a form field, meaning that you choose your answers from the drop-down menus and type in the blanks; in other words, you fill it out on your computer and then print it out. That form is here: http://www.sgvbaseballumps.org/ratings/formfield.doc. The other form is one that you print out and then fill out by hand. That one is here: http://www.sgvbaseballumps.org/ratings/regular.doc

No matter which option you choose, remember that you need to rate every partner after every game. It's easiest to do it as soon as you get home so the game is still fresh in your mind. The online version will take about 5 minutes to fill out.

If you have any questions about the ratings forms or any other thing on the website, please don't hesitate to email or call me. I'm happy to help out.

Apparently there has been some confusion about whether there is a classification test in addition to the online study guide. Yes, there is. The online study guide is due by Monday. In addition, at our 5th meeting, March 17th, we will be taking the classification test. The classification test will be done in the classroom on ScanTrons, like usual, and will be graded before you leave.

Hopefully this will clear up any confusion.

Good Morning Friends-

I was unable to access to either website provided www.cifsportsofficials.org or www.sgvbaseballumps.org last night; as well as my daughter’s computer is crashing at this time. I only have access to the internet at work; I hope that the online study guide will be available to take in class tonight.

Thank you,

Subject: [sgvbaseballumps] Study Guide vs. ClassificationTest

Just a quick reminder that scrimmages are this weekend and are MANDATORY. Please show up RAIN or SHINE and be sure to sign in. Be prepared to work a scrimmage even if it is raining where you live. It may be sunny and dry at your scrimmage site. Even if it is raining, you still need to show up and sign in.

Also, remember that the study guide must be completed before Monday. To access the online study guide, you can go through the unit’s website, www.sgvbaseballumps.org, or go to the study guide directly by going here: http://www.cifsportsofficials.org/ . Complete directions for logging on to the study guide are on the unit’s website. If you are having problems with the online study guide, make sure you contact Ron Sowers and/or a board member.

Have a great scrimmage and a great weekend, and I’ll see you at our meeting on Monday night.

Darren Winkley
