Greetings All,
I wanted to let you all know that I received the confirmation
packet form the Celebration planning committee for this year's Pride
Celebration, on June 24th & 25th.
We are fortunate to have a pretty good spot (I believe), for
our first major recruitment/information effort. the team's booth is
going to be directly in front of the main library (Grove St., between
Larkin & Hyde), approximately in the middle of the block, from the
looks of it.
I'm hoping that you all can stop by either Saturday or
Sunday,if nothing more than to just say hi, and to possibly meet some
other team members. Also, if any of you have any friends who may be
interested in joining the SF Yeti, please bring them along so that I
may be able to answer any questions that anyone may have.
Unfortunately, we will not be able to get a chance this year
to receive any of the funds being disbursed from this year's gate
proceeds, since we do not have legal non-profit status. I am
attempting to obtain this status for the team so that we may get
some funding to help defray the costs of operating and playing. I'd
like to be able to get this status in time for us to be eligible for
a chance for the disbursement of funds from the Castro St. Fair
(which the team is also planning on making an appearance at).
If you feel you can be of any assistance in helping the team
obtain this non-profit status (through referrals to pro bono
legal/tax assistance, previous knowledge of how this is done,
