Hi everyone:
Just wanted to remind folks about the winter training ride I'm leading on
Saturday (Dec. 9).
The ride meets at 8 a.m. at the Mace park-n-ride lot on the outskirts of
Davis. The route/cue sheet is posted at
<http://www.routeslip.com/map.php?map=14076>. The route follows the
beginning of our standard brevet routes, so it's a good way to get familiar
with those roads.
I changed the return route slightly from what I had posted for the November
ride. Coming back toward Davis I've planned a more direct route through the
campus and town rather than following the brevet route to the south. This
shortens the mileage from about 90 to 85, and it'll also give Davis riders
the option of riding directly home instead of riding all the way to Mace and
then back into town. But anyone who wants to do the brevet course back to
Mace is welcome to do so.
There are a couple of storm systems heading our way this weekend. A few days
ago the forecast was for rain on Saturday, and now it looks like Saturday
may be OK. But that could change. Rain does not cancel this ride, but your
ride leader reserves the right to wimp out and do a coffee ride to Winters
if it's raining. And if it's pouring, the coffee ride may just go to the
Davis Starbucks....
