Rob,
Please pencil me in as a volunteer for your brevet. There is a slim chance I'll
need to travel out of the country that weekend, but the powers-that-be have not
informed me as of yet. I'll let you know as soon as possible. Let me/us know
what you might need, I have the following (n), awning (1), folding chairs(5-6),
folding tables(1), lantern(1), etc. Probably should count on rain and cold.
We're such old hands at this stuff now! :)

Subject: [sfrandon] Signups for the upcoming Brevet series
Just a note to let you know the status of signups for the 200 and
300km brevets and some other notes.
As of yesterday, I had received about 33 signups for the 200km ride in
January. I have about half that for signups for the 300km.
Of note, is that more than one person made their check out to SF
Randonneurs, and not to me. As the club stands right
now, there is no business account for SFR so I need the checks to be
made out to me (as Todd had them made out
to him when he was RBA). For those that have written the check out to
SFR, I'll be in contact (if I haven't already)
and for now it is easy to hold your spot on the roster. As time goes
on though there may be more pressure to get that
oversight addressed.
As regards the membership signups, please print clearly when you write
your email address. I've had to struggle with
a few of these. I'm sending the email addresses over to Jim G. who
will send an invitation to the announcements list.
The announcements list will be a low traffic email group (with no
discussion aspect) and will be one of three ways
that announcements for the club are broadcast (the other two being the
website and the SFR yahoo groups discussion
list).
I hope to send a list to Carlos for the website listing the names of
those that have signed up for each of the rides. If
you've done rides like the Knoxville Double, you will be familiar with this.
Lastly, I'm wondering if there are any potential volunteers who would
like to work checkin at the final
control for the 200km on 1-26-08. I'd like to spread this out into
shifts, and have at least two people
work the checkin. Working this solo can be a little boring during the
stretches when no riders have
come in. If you would like to still do a brevet but would like to also
volunteer, I will hold a workers brevet
sometime in the two weeks before the 26th (I have to check my notes to
see if I picked a specific date).
Sorry, but the workers brevet is only for those that volunteer and
can't be used simply as an alternate
date if you have another ride you wanted to do on the 26th.
